Pitmedden Gardens

Today our Discover Aberdeen group visited Pitmedden Gardens. The garden dates back to 17th century featuring over 5 miles of box hedging arranged in intricate patterns including Sir Alexander Seton's coat of arms. The original garden was destroyed by fire in 1818 but was later reconstructed.  They have only 3 full-time gardners and a group of volunteers to keep this beauty tame. I think the pictures speak for themselves, so all that's left to say is, look how pretty:

Coat of Arms

Sun Dial.  I stood on the month we're in and my shadow told me what time it was!

Apple Trees! They have an apple picking day at the end of the month

My favorite flower I've seen here...

Is that an artichoke?  I think so!

Great friends:)
