Tee Time

We keep living in cities where Golf is a beloved sport. Unlike Aberdeen, Dubai takes it much more seriously. You cannot play on most golf courses here unless you have a certificate showing your handicap aka a good player. Major bummer.

I hardly qualify as a good player when my golfing experiences consist mainly of getting drunk and cruising along in the golf cart. Oh, and of course hitting the ball from time to time. I was never good
at aiming, but I can swing!

The courses in Aberdeen were so picturesque. The views were unbeatable. Here we were in Stonehaven 2 years back, swinging, drinking fools:

Most of the golf courses in Dubai are surrounded by Lakes. But Tiger Woods has designed one and I've seen signs for another Trump course being built here. The Trump course in Aberdeen was gorgeous. Here's a snapshot of the Tiger Wood's course:

We live near a golf course and I get so frustrated that I cannot play for fun. I've been searching for an activity, so I signed up for lessons. I only signed up for 4 lessons, and next week will be my last. I figured it was a good way to get me out of the house without doing anything baby related. These days, that's a big deal. Don't worry, I already gave myself a pat on the back :)

I had no idea there was so much technique in golf! My hands still hurt from holding the club "properly." I really like my teacher though and he has definitely given me some good pointers. Whether or not I will put them to good use is a different story. I guess I could always go to the driving range.....boring!!!
