After our relaxing stay in the Canaries, we flew to Madrid. I was suddenly reminded that our sun tanning days were over as we stepped out into 50 degree weather. Well at least I got some Vitamin D to last me the next few months (I hope)!
Madrid is a big city and we stayed in the city centre with all the action. There was even a huge billboard that reminded me of Times Square. We spent our first day just walking around and soaking up the energy. We ended up at the San Miguel Mercado which was tapas heaven,
seriously. This market had rows and rows of stalls with different companies selling wine, cheese, seafood & dessert. It was so fun grabbing a glass of wine from one stall and walking around to sample good eats. Such a great idea! Wonder why there aren't more of these in the world.

Our second (and last) day, we scheduled a segway tour. It was such a great way to tour the city in a non-traditional way. It turned out Scotland was representing that day because our tour guide and the other couple were all from Scotland! Felt like home:) We saw some really great stuff. There are way too many pictures to share so will have to send them out later. Madrid is such a beautiful city and I wish we had one more day there to explore but alas Munich was calling our name....
i went to Madrid last year and loved the food and wine as well! i recently went on a segway tour in Paris... and well.... i fell. more like crashed into a tree. i was being dumb though. looked like yall had a blast!!!
